- : Yes, I have seen these halts, and they are as extreme with Couriers as
- : they are with Sportsters. And they *are* worse with the 33.6 firmware, a
- : lot worse (used to be less than a second, now its sometimes 30-45), even
- : when directly connected to each other, so it can't be the lines or the
- : "other modem". Fortunately, they are only this bad if you are using v.34
- : or v.34+. If you turn off v.8 so it uses v.FC instead, the max connect
- : rate will be 28.8, but for the most part it gets rid of the pauses.
- : Depending on how new your USR is, this is generally done with either
- : S54.7=1 or S32.1=0.
-
- Give me a break! Please explain the total *lack* of these "halts" with my
- *two* USR Couriers connecting to my ISP.
-
- Please explain the regular occurrance of these "halts" with a different
- ISP and my friend's Supra. Please explain that his Supra did not
- experience these "halts" when we used it to call my ISP.
-
- Quit bashing USR over something that has nothing to do with them.
