  26. : they are with Sportsters.  And they *are* worse with the 33.6 firmware, a
  27. : lot worse (used to be less than a second, now its sometimes 30-45), even
  28. : when directly connected to each other, so it can't be the lines or the
  29. : "other modem".  Fortunately, they are only this bad if you are using v.34
  30. : or v.34+.  If you turn off v.8 so it uses v.FC instead, the max connect
  31. : rate will be 28.8, but for the most part it gets rid of the pauses.

  39. ISP and my friend's Supra. Please explain that his Supra did not 
  40. experience these "halts" when we used it to call my ISP.
